In 2013, the association has received many parents and young people facing cannabis.

I lectured on the dangers of injecting rooms

We prevented the opening of an injection room in Paris by filing a complaint against the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. We remain vigilant because the risk is great that in 2014 the government opened several.

I released my second book: ..........

I am now writing a book on injection rooms.

CELIN BOLIVIA is working on the awarness and follow up of FCTC (Frame convention on Tobacco Control) in urban areas of Bolivia. CELIN BOLIVIA is also working on coca leaves as the prime source of cocaine (Only 1% of the Bolivian population chew coca leaves). Those are our main work now until november 2014.

During this last half-year, the Foundation for a Drug-Free Europe (FDFE) continued through its European associations Say No To Drugs to inform the youth and the public at large on the drug dangers. The basic materials used are:

- the booklet The Truth About Drugs, describing for the 12 most used drugs how they work, the mental and physical effects they create;

- the DVD with 16 Public Service Announcements “ They said, They lied ” with strong depictions of the destructive effects of drugs and a 100 minute documentary: “ Real people, Real stories ” told by former drug users who survived the life-shattering addiction.

The impact in preventing drug use is significant. Those who are informed can resist peer pressure and choose for themselves to never start drugs in the first place. Another result is that when especially young people learn the truth about drugs, they naturally want to bring that information to others, thus expanding the data person to person, community to community.

In Czech Republic, the 25 participants of the 11th edition of the Cyclo-run team started in Orlova with the approval of the City and in the presence of 350 children. The race lasted 10 days, passing through 45 cities, covering 1 300 kilometers, distributing 30 600 booklets and holding 130 lectures in 46 schools of 23 cities, representing 4538 children! Thus, many of them thus were discouraged from taking drugs and others were strengthened in their decision to never take them.

The media coverage by TV channels, radios and newspapers reached about 2 250 000 people.

The race ended in Prague where the team was received by many Senators and the Head of the Senate who stated: Anti-drug education is cheaper, more effective and definitely better than solving the consequences of drugs. I very much appreciate this activity and consider it important. The Senate will engage in it further .

On 5 February 2013, the Prime Minister announced the opening of an injection room in Paris.

Due to the announcement the Parents Against Drugs Association lodged an appeal before the Council of State against the Prime Minister and two complaints to tribunal de Grande Instance of Paris and Court of Justice of the Republic against the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health on July 9.

The complaints were filed for inciting drugs, facilitating the use of drugs.

In August the Council of State gives us right and recognizes that our application is admissible.

Despite this the government and the Mayor of Paris does not take account of that advice and continues to say that the injection room will open on 1 November 2013.

Parent Against Drugs continues to file complaints over the decision to open injection rooms in France. The government believed that it will be enough to open an injection room by simply writing a decree. The prime minister refuses any debate in parliament.

On 8 October, the State Council gave us right a second time and prevents the government to open injection rooms, because it is impossible to open it without changing the law. This is the second victory for Parents Against Drugs.

Now the opening of the hall is delayed for at least six months. However, the government still insists on opening injection rooms in France.

We will stay vigilant to the end, we shall fight to the end.

Parents Contre La Drogue

LE DOSSIER NOIR DU CANNABIS [THE BLACK CASE OF CANNABIS]
Témoignages accablants [overwhelming evidence]

Preface by Sven-Olov Carlsson,
International President of World Federation Against Drugs

dossier-noir-du-cannabis

Cannabis is believed to be innocuous and harmless, and regularly the prospect of legalization comes up to the front of the stage, triggering furious controversy. Most of the time, we come to deny or minimize the harmful effects of this drug, which affects young people the most, usually with convictions and testimonies.

Serge Lebigot protests against this dangerous illusion. Uncompromisingly, he opens the black case of cannabis and explains to educators and parents, how this herb can affect the health of young people. It also provides concrete ways to support parents who face cannabis use among their children.

Serge Lebigot is president of Parents Contre La Drogue [Parents Against Drugs Association].
