WFAD´s East and Central Africa Network for Prevention of Crime and Substance Use Prevention and Treatment invited you to two social media sessions on the 14th & 15th of May, 10.00-11.00 EAST. In light of the International Day of Families, the role of family prevention of substance use with a special focus on the role of men in the current society will be discussed and their contribution towards a stable family (positive masculinity). Families exercise social protection of various issues. Family based drug prevention starts at home early that includes self-awareness, parent-child communication skills and family bonding. It is significant for families to be aware of the variety of interventions that can be utilized as a response to risk factors, especially because families witness the development stages of their relatives. Therefore, family is considered to be the primary influence that shapes and supports the household growth and the individual growth.
