The foundation 'Stichting in Herstel met LEF' its primary goal is to reduce the stigma that is being faced by those experiencing addiction and eating disorders while also raising awareness for treatment and the recovery process. The secondary goal is to fight against addiction, including substances, tobacco, and eating disorders while supporting and executing evidence-based projects working with destigmatisation and reintegration. They also encourage scientific research in addiction and eating disorders. Overall, the foundation focuses on the continuing of widening of knowledge in the area of addiction and eating disorders, including science. They do this through collaborations with other initiators and interested parties in the same field.

The foundation aims to reach their goal through:
- organising the Day of Recovery annually
- collaborating with and supporting organisations that work professionally with scientific research in addiction, treatment, and eating disorders
- collaborating with and supporting organisations that work professionally with the destigmatisation of eating disorders and addiction
- organising multimedia activities directed towards destigmatisation
- collaborating with and supporting organisations working with reintegration
- [financially support the] publishing of the LEF magazine, a magazine for recovered users, people with eating disorders, their family members, and professionals in health care.
