Blue Cross Society of Tanzania (BCST) is a non-governmental organization registered in 2006 in Tanzania. BCST has its headquarters in the Ifakara district, Morogoro region and its sub-head office in Arusha. Since its inception in 2006, the Blue Cross Society of Tanzania has been one of the organizations in Tanzania fighting against psychoactive substance abuses including alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Blue Cross Society of Tanzania has experienced staff to implement the programme. It is working in collaboration with the local government authorities, the Drug and Control Enforcement Authority, and local NGOs in the Arusha region. Besides working with other local NGOs, BCST works closely with the local communities in the area.
Life skills education in schools, out of schools and community promotes mental well-being in young people equips them to face the realities of life and empowers them to take more responsibility for their actions.
