Lanka Fundamental Rights Organisation is a Non-Governmental organisation registered with the government of Sri Lanka, accredited with the ECOSOC and several other INGOs, with members in every corner of Sri Lanka covering all the villages and working towards ensuring Fundamental Rights from womb to tomb.

The three causes of violation of fundamental rights which we have identified are Health, Education and Wealth. Therefore, we provide all support & awareness to see that everyone is Healthy, Educated and Wealthy. Our anti-drug activities cover all these matters.

We take action on the violations of fundamental rights and also heighten awareness of the impact of fundamental rights issues on various groups.

We engage in improving the economic and social conditions of the community by providing them with necessary assistance without favouritism or discrimination of race or religion. Establish Social Enterprises for the benefit of the unemployed, housewives, elderly and disabled, etc., to earn a living for them without any financial investment by them.

We assist those children who cannot attend school due to financial difficulties, and ensure that everyone has the right to study at least up to year 10. We also assist those children who are being harassed by their parents and or spouses who are being harassed by their husband, with legal advice and to find ways and means to help them to live happily and peacefully.

We promote health education, conduct medical camps, educate the community on prevention methods and how to live a healthy life, assist in environmental protection by way of assisting and or advising communities to plant trees, keep the surroundings clean and tidy. Assist and educate the communities on the preservation of ground drinking water, and provide assistance for the supply of drinking water.

We establish and manage Elders Homes, Children’s Homes, Drug Rehabilitation Centres, Social Enterprises, Centres for Special Needs Children, Herbal Gardens, Wild Fruit Forests, Nature Parks, Children’s Parks, Hospitals, Medical Clinics, Ayurvedic Centres & Labs, Cultural Centres, and any other establishment which will enhance the quality of living standards of the community.

While the government has taken a severe step in abolishing drugs, arresting all drug dealers, the school children try to sample them and fall victim. As long as there is demand by the users, the dealers will survive. Therefore, to ensure a drug-free country, we have been establishing Youth Groups in Schools, details of which are as follows :

Free Membership would be offered to students of 5 to 20 years, with the written permission of their parents and the School Principal and their membership will be automatically removed once they leave school or if they violate our rules, whichever comes first. They will be trained and educated in peace, justice, anti-drug activities, sports, unity, respect for elders, and law-abiding behavior. Once classes are over, they must go directly home, and if there are any late classes, they must obtain prior permission from their parents. They are prohibited going out after 6:00 PM, even with their parents, except in an emergency. These student Members would be continuously educated about diabetes, cancer prevention, obesity, skills development, as well as their future. Once a year, a meeting is held for student members, their family members, and teachers. Awards and recognitions will be presented on this day. There will be an annual domestic tour.

We coordinate, cooperate and work with other NGOs, INGOs, Civil Societies, other volunteer organisations, private business enterprises and the government of Sri Lanka to fulfil the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
