Lithuanian Tobacco and Alcohol Control Coalition (NTAKK) is an umbrella non-profit NGO informally functioning since 2004 and legally established in 2008. There were 36 NTAKK member organizations in 2017. Our mission is to promote and advocate implementation of evidence-based prevention and control policy measures for all psychoactive substances and addictions. We have broadened activities into illegal drug control in 2011 and promote integrated control policies for legal and illegal drugs. In 2013 gambling control policies were included among our activities.


NTAKK has in-depth expertise in advocacy for alcohol and tobacco control, cooperation of governmental and non-government sector, health advocacy issues and increasingly, in illegal drug control. In 2015 NTAKK with partners organized the first Baltic conference in Kaunas “Cannabis – a challenge to modern society“. In 2016 NTAKK was one of the two NGO representatives included in the official country delegation to UNGASS in New York (USA). We cooperate with State Drug, tobacco and alcohol control department and other


governmental institutions in drafting and commenting on legislative proposals, participate in work groups and commissions, provide recommendations on developing better treatment and care system for addicted persons. In 2017 NTAKK was an invited panelist in ECAD 24 mayors’ conference in Kaunas (Lithuania).
