Afghan Women Saffron Growers Association (ASWGA) was legally established in 2011, but the members associations were registered in 2008. The Association has given different services to its members including providing training facilities, equipment, giving advances for poor farmers and assisting members in production and processing.
Negin saffron company embellished as association trading branch in 2012.
AWSA mission is to provide best quality saffron produced to be licit alternatives to opium production that is practicable in the socio--‐economic Environment of Afghanistan, and that are accessible to rural People. Also ASWA is an Afghan women association helps their members increase their income year by year. About 1285 women have gotten membership of AWSA and benefits from this organization programs and activities. Different Donors and international organization has been provide fund for AWSA like Agriculture development Bank, World Bank, GIZ, Danish committee for aid Afghan refuge (DACAAR) , DIFID, ICARDA, UNODC ..etc.
AWSA try to provide job opportunity for the women whose are stopped opium using and also widow and other vulnerable rural women in Afghanistan through skill training, small skill enterprise project, small agriculture activities, capacity building and raise awareness.
