CEDRO is a nongovernmental nonprofit organization founded in 1986. Its aims are to raise awareness, inform, educate and research on the drug problem and related psychosocial problems; looking to be a leader in promoting healthy lifestyles and development.
The institution is made up of multidisciplinary teams that facilitate and articulate community development processes with emphasis on working with adolescents, young people and families, especially those who are at risk; influencing the media and public policies to consolidate a culture of legality towards sustainable development.
CEDRO is today an important reference on the issue of drug prevention and risk behaviors. It has contributed in creating national awareness of the drug problem, with a majority opinion (93%) against its legalization. It has also contributed to the relative stabilization of consumption and generation mechanisms of effective community organization.
