Vision for Alternative Development (VALD) non-governmental organization with incorporated number: CG000702017. VALD is established to promote alternative initiatives and to support development at all levels of the society.
It working objectives include:
Advocacy and sensitization on illicit drug and substance abuse, non-communicable diseases, tobacco control and alcohol prevention and control,
Advocacy for road safety, harm prevention & reduction and
Advocacy for cultural diversity, peace and development.
The Network of African Science Academies (NASAC) comprising of national academies of sciences from South Africa, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon and Uganda in their book titled “PREVENTING A TOBACCO EPIDEMIC IN AFRICA; A CALL FOR EFFECTIVE ACTION TO SUPPORT HEALTH, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT”. “The role of civil society organizations and international development partners” started that “Civil society organizations are groups that represent the needs of their communities. In Ghana, Vision for Alternative Development is one such organization.”
