On Tuesday the Los Angeles City Council approved an ordinance that will close down hundreds of marijuana dispensaries.
By a 9-3 vote the Council said 187 dispensaries will remain open for now but the intention is to reduce the number to 70.
The new rules requires a dispensary to be located at least 300 meters from schools, libraries, churches and public parks and they must close by 8 pm. The ordinance, which also other restrictions on the sale of marijuana, will take effect once it is signed by the mayor.
