This is not true for the grass root organisations active in preventing drug misuse. Speakers from several Latin American organisations will present their view. A new Swedish Act (SFS 2011:111) on destruction of unlisted substances of abuse entered into force 1 April 2011. It authorizes public prosecutors to seize unlisted drugs under investigation to be listed. The prosecutor can order the destruction of the substance. The new act has been a great success in thwarting Internet sales of unlisted substances. The seminar will have presentations on current legal practice and also on the Swedish system of monitoring and listing new substances.
