U.S. student David Chong was locked up for five days and police just forgot that he had been locked up. This is of course not acceptable. However, filing a $20 million legal claim against DEA is beyond all reason. $4 million per day is a pretty good per diem “salary”, which might cause anybody to try to get caught and forgotten. As expected, Ethan Nadelmann says that “what happened to Daniel Chong is an inevitable consequence of a war on drugs.” What kind of logic is that? None.
