An Orange County city is ordering its medical marijuana dispensaries to close in the wake of a state Supreme Court ruling that permits pot shop bans. The Orange County Register says officials sent a cease-and-desist letter to owners of more than 60 clinics last week, ordering them close as of Tuesday. Owners who refuse could face criminal charges and fines of $1,000 per day.
