Drug Free Club O.A.U is a national organization founded in 1998 as an affiliate member of the NDLEA. The Club is non-political, non-religious, non-discriminatory of sex or creed, non-profit making and an entirely student managed organization which aims at creating awareness in our community against the abuse and misuse of drugs, purchase and sales of fake/expired drugs and the peddling of hard drugs by the youth. The club is the national headquarter of Drug Free Clubs in Nigeria
MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE CLUB
-Work with NDLEA in training the members of the club -To organize effective awareness about the harmful effects of hard drug abuse in the University community and the Nigerian society at large -To carry out Secondary schools sensitization campaigns (“Catch Them Young”). -To create awareness about the consequences of the indiscriminate use of drugs in the society. -Creating awareness about HIV/AIDS as it relates to drug abuse. -Counsel individuals facing problem with addiction
