Earlier, we shared the launch of the “Drug Free Tripura” where various awareness programmes in different settings including rural communities, schools, and inner-city urban areas are conducted. They have continued their outreach with their school awareness programme. Here, they are sharing awareness and prevention on drugs in schools. For this event, their managing director Mr Biswajit Debbarma, Executive Director Ms Kalapana Debbarma, and Yak Bai Yak team lead members Mr Bentom, Mr Khirud, and Mr Goutam Debbarma shared information and awareness speeches. Their local coordinator for this event was also another valuable YakBai Yak member, Mr Sukhendu Debbarma. Dr Swarnalata Debbarma, executive director of YBY foundation, shared a presentation on drugs and their negative impacts on physical, mental, and social aspects. The awareness outreach was held in Donbosco High School, Herma in West Tripura.

The participants of the awareness outreach were students from classes from 6th to 10th grade and more than 100 students attended. Parents, with a focus on mothers of the students, were also invited due to their vital roles in child-rearing and education, village guardians, and school teachers. YBY Foundation printed a few drug awareness posters to hang outside of the school premises. The event was well accepted and highly appreciated by the school authorities. The Foundations aims to visit all the schools in Tripura.
