Field Activities by Rural Development & Youth Training Institute – May-June 2023


The Rural Development & Youth Training Institute has organised two village meetings and workshops in Rural areas of Kota, India, in May – June 2023. At the meetings, the Drug-free community issues and their future strategy were discussed in detail. Additionally, the WFADs objectives and issues regarding drug prevention, harm reduction issues, basic human and democratic rights, peace, tolerance, equality, and justice, were included in the discussions in the village meetings and workshops.

Around 230 people, including women and children, gathered at the village meetings and workshops in May and June 2023. They discussed drug-free and community development activities in detail and took decisions on drug-free communities and non-violent development activities for the community and village groups.

Who are the Rural Development  & Youth Training Institute- NGO

The Rural Development and Youth Training Institute, located in Kota, India, is a non-governmental and non-profit registered organisation. They are extensively working in the field of community development activities, health education, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of persons facing a substance use disorder. Additionally, the institute works with raising awareness for prevention, with a focus on rural youth, women, and children.

The Rural Development and Youth Training Institute has continued working in Kota, Rajasthan, India, for many years. They have a team of young, energetic, and hard workers. The majority of the members of the executive/governing body of the organisation belong to rural youth training experts, including female experts.

They work with the prevention of drug use through counselling and awareness campaigns, community intervention, and advocacy with local CBOs as well as coordinating with rehabilitation organisations for effective treatment.
