Coalition for a Drug Free California (CDFC) announces the failure of the “illegal-drug lobby” to certify yet another pro-drug proposition for the California ballot. Dr. Paul Chabot, President of the Coalition for a Drug Free California said, “The pro-drug movement in California has been handed yet another devastating loss, when last week, the California Secretary of State announced the pro-marijuana ballot initiative, generically titled, ‘Reduced Marijuana Penalties’ failed to qualify. This comes on the heels of another failure when earlier this month the California Secretary of State announced the ‘Regulate Marijuana Like Wine Act of 2012’ also failed to garner enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. This is yet another victory for California’s youth and we thank our partner organizations for helping to educate the public about illegal drug use.”
