A technician at one of Britain’s leading universities has been jailed for using his lab to prepare high-grade cocaine. Timothy Newbury, 53, used a hydraulic press in the Physics department at Bristol University to create blocks of the class-A drug. CCTV showed Newbury sneaking into the laboratory with ex-soldier Nicholas Avery, who had cut the cocaine with other substances in a workshop at his home.
