Speaking to lawmakers this morning Colorado Deputy Attorney General David Blake said, quoted by Denver Post, “If (the regulation of) this [marijuana] industry is not fully funded, it will be a huge problem for the state of Colorado.”

Dear Mr Blake, Colorado faces huge problems regardless of funding for regulatory “services”. Legalization of marijuana, always was, still is and will remain an utterly stupid idea as quite a few people, including yourself, seem to have realized.

A proposal to increase taxes would only result in cheers from organized crime as they can compete with whatever system Colorado tries to implement to control the industry. Voila! – You´ll find yourself with two industries – one voted for by the people in Colorado – an industry in breach with federal law, and another one run by criminal scumbags offering their “services” 24/7 at a lower price, and prepared to sell to anybody regardless of age as long as the customer is willing to pay.

Is that what the citizens of Colorado are looking forward to?
