Marijuana remains illegal under U.S. federal law. Despite this, and with the support of the Obama Administration, Pot States are now breaking federal law to provide pot to their citizens. Now, a few pertinent legal issues are on the table. Can employers fire workers who test positive for marijuana? Do you feel comfortable with a teacher on pot, a police officer on pot responding to a crime scene, a doctor on pot performing surgery, or a public transit driver on pot. I suppose you don´t feel too comfortable with the idea. If not – how should we deal with it? Are there first class, second class, and third class citizens where employees in certain professions are regarded as more important than others (1st class) and, consequently, should not be allowed to use pot – at all?, five hours before they go to work?, six hours?, seven hours?, whereas 2nd class citizens wouldn´t face the same restrictions, and unemployed 3rd class citizens face no restrictions at all? What class do you belong to?
