ABC News reports that an international police conference in Perth has been told organised crime gangs are targeting Australia for the manufacture and trafficking of drugs. It was told there has been a big increase in the number of clandestine drug labs manufacturing methylamphetamine.
Police say there has been a 500 per cent increase in the detection of illicit labs in Perth in the past three years.
