According to the Duch daily De Telegraaf on Friday, the national police force will be called in to counteract drug related violence in the south of the country.
During an emergency meeting in Breda this week, mayors from five towns asked Justice Minister Ivo Opstelten for help as the local police forces don´t have enough officers to fight the problem.
Furthermore, coffee shop passes for registered users of cannabis are expected to be introduced soon. The present government has said that it plans to introduce such passes nationwide.
