As a part of the Swedish National Institute for Public Health mandate to follow up public health policy, a national public health survey, Health on Equal Terms, has been conducted for the fourth time.

The survey, which shows the state of the population’s health and follows up changes over time, is an ongoing collaboration between the Institute and county councils/regions in Sweden.

The survey is conducted regularly since 2004 to follow up public health and the factors that determine this. The work is carried out with the help of Statistics Sweden.

The 2006 survey selection comprised a total of 93 000 people, aged 16-84 year. The response rate was 61 percent, totalling about 57 000 people.
