The head of the Rio de Janeiro state police department, Allan Turnowski, resigned today after 30 police officers under his command, including his former deputy Carlos Antonio Luiz Oliveira,, were arrested for corruption.
Oliveira, was charged with theft, corruption, and working with drug trafficking gangs.
