COMMUNITY ACTION Network Inc. (CAN) was established in June 2023 as a non-political non-profit and non-governmental organization to advocate and address the persistent Educational, Health and social economic challenges in Montserrado and Liberia at large. Amongst the many issues across communities include; violence among young people, drug abuse, Teenage Pregnancy, child Abuse, and SGBV issues etc. with these major issues confronting our society today, the need to contribute to addressing these societal problems cannot be overlooked and required collective efforts dealing with the complexity of social issues in Liberia. As a result of the outlining social problems in Liberia, CAN Inc. eventually embarked on an outreach program to provide educational information on Drug and Substance Abuse, SGBV, and Sensitization on Drug prevention across communities in Montserrado County.
VISION
The organization's vision is to advance social, and economic development and health imbalance in Montserrado County and Liberia at large, through grassroots consultation and participation. This is done by creating platforms that will enable citizens especially young people at the community level to have access to information, meet their leaders face to face and ensure that development meets the needs in all spheres of society without discrimination.
MISSION
The mission of the organization is to ensure that citizens are well trained, mentally equipped and ready to take positive actions by advocating for the demand of policy change as it relates to drug laws, economic and social inclusiveness, community development, youth programs, education, health etc.
The organization has experience in working with youth groups, community leaders, religious leaders and stakeholders in the achievement of its mission.
