The MSSG is founded by Velandi Thangavel in 1979 and it is a registered NGO worked with women and children for their sustainable development through integrated women and children development projects.
The MSSG is a member organization of IOGT – International since 1975 and implementing alcohol prevention programme as part of the women and children development projects.
In 2005, MSSG founded a separate human rights movement, “Voice of the Victims” for the promotion of human rights culture and protection of the victims. Voice of the victims considers that alcoholism is a death knell to children rights and children of alcoholics are the victims of alcoholism. In 2009, MSSG initiated for the formation of Indian Temperance Youth Federation (ITYF) by mobilizing IOGT – International member organizations in India. ITYF is one of the member organizations in IOGT – International. For ITYF profile ,please visit http://www.ityf.in
ITYF – Tamil Nadu is actively working with adolescent children through “Living Drug Free” campaign – supported by National Scout Federation, Sweden.
