Created since 2004, the National Network of Associations and NGOs Fighting Drugs and HIV/AIDS (RENALDS) is an umbrella organization of sixty associations and NGOs involved in the fight against drugs and HIV. A statutory member of the National Committee against Drugs (CNLD), RENALDS works to promote the synergy of actions and the complementarity of civil society actors' interventions in the fight against drugs and HIV/AIDS and to improve drug policy in Burkina Faso. Despite the advances the Burkinabe state enforcement texts and laws remain repressive.

For this reason, the governments have an ambition to have a national strategy for the fight against drugs. For this, RENALDS since beginning of 2020 mobilized its member organizations to have the means, capabilities and techniques, to influence drug policies in the future national strategy on harm reduction and gender integration.

RENALDS need support of all drug-fighting actors to reach this target by 2021.
