On December 1st, 2025, the project “Voices for Change: Empowering Youth and Civil Society for Inclusive Prevention and Reintegration” was launched. The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). It will be implemented in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, together with WFAD DRC, UYDEL, C-SEMA, and our East African Liaison Office.
The project “Voices for Change” aims to strengthen inclusive, democratic governance in East Africa through youth and CSO-led, rights-based responses to substance use and crime. This is done through three pillars:
Pillar 1: Civil Society have enhanced institutional capacity, knowledge, and democratic practices.
Pillar 2: Marginalised youth (15-29, especially women) empowered and meaningfully included in governance and advocacy
Pillar 3. Strengthened dialogue and collaboration among CSOs, youth, and governments for coordinated, evidence-based policy responses
