This is a contribution by our member Caleb Initiative for Drug Abuse Awareness
The Caleb Initiative for Drug Abuse Awareness (CIDAA) successfully implemented a Drug Prevention and Youth Empowerment Project in Nasarawa State, aimed at sensitising young people and strengthening the capacity of youth leaders, civil society actors, and security agencies in the fight against substance abuse.
The project was designed to empower participants with evidence-based information, practical tools, and educational materials to effectively address drug-related challenges within their communities. Through interactive sessions, panel discussions, and group engagements, participants deepened their understanding of the causes, effects, and prevention strategies for drug abuse, as well as the importance of community collaboration, peer education, and early intervention.
The initiative brought together youth leaders, student representatives, civil society organisations, security personnel, and community-based groups, fostering a united front against drug abuse and promoting a culture of health, responsibility, and positive youth development across Nasarawa State.
CIDAA remains steadfast in its mission to empower individuals and communities through Education, Prevention, Advocacy, Treatment, and Consultancy, ensuring that young people are equipped to lead drug-free and productive lives.
