Recovery Month Webinar – Panel Discussion on Recovery

As Recovery Month comes to a close, the World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD) and the Recovered Users Network (RUN) warmly invite you to join an international panel discussion on 29 September 2026, from 14:00–15:30 CEST.

Recovery looks different across countries, communities and individual circumstances. Bringing together speakers from different parts of the world, this panel discussion will explore different experiences and approaches to supporting recovery, including what people need beyond treatment, the importance of lived experience, and how families, communities and civil society can help create supportive environments for long-term recovery.

Meet Our Panellists

We are pleased to welcome five panellists who will share their experiences and perspectives on recovery:

  • Monica Barzanti – Head of International Relations, San Patrignano, Italy
  • Edwin Kibe Gitau – Founder Director, UHAI Kenya
  • Rafiz Hapipi – Substance Use Treatment & Recovery Therapist, Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA)
  • Ashwin Thind – Founder & Principal Clinical Psychologist, The Kinara Centre for Addiction, Trauma and Recovery
  • Augusto Nogueira – ARTM Macau

The discussion will be moderated by Mulka Nišić.

Through a conversational panel discussion, speakers will reflect on recovery in their respective contexts, share examples from their work and discuss how person-centred approaches, lived experience and community support can contribute to sustaining long-term recovery.
