We want to send out heartfelt congratulations to our member Hameed Ulmehdi, leader of the Community Development & Entrepreneurship Foundation,CDeF, in Quetta, Pakistan since 2013 for the receipt of the Community Development Award. This international recognition was presented during the Community Development Society (CDS) Annual Conference between 6-9 July 2025.

The award recognises a broad range of roles in community development including teaching, research, practice, programming, administration or combination of these roles. Contributions with proven impacts/results over the short or long term includes activities that have been conducted for one or more years. It also includes short term activities that may have been conducted for less than one year but with demonstrated promise of long term community improvement.

Hameed Ulmehdi was crowned with the award for his expertise, effors, dedication, and passion for inclusive community development projects including human rights education, health, youth leadership, drug-demand reduction, english language development, cultural rights/social mobilisation, skills-based training, strengthening civil society, as well as representing the country and networking with the international community. He is the first CDS member of the region receiving the award.
