Our member, EMPOWER INDIA, has been working in the grassroots communities for the past 33 years. The Hon’ble Chief Minister, the Tamil Nādu Government, India, has launched a special volunteer programme to continuously conduct awareness campaigns against substance use. The programme includes anti-drug student groups, which act in all schools and colleges across the state of Tamil Nadu. The Initiative is part of the “Drug Free Tamil Nadu” Mission.
On 15.10.2024, a Stakeholders Conclave was conducted in collaboration with the DIG of Police, Tirunelveli Range. Around 268 Educational Institutions Heads from Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, and Thoothukudi participated in the Conclave. In the second phase, a District Level Training Programme for the anti-drub clubs was organised for the coordinators and the Student representatives. A total of 361 Educational Institutions and 1500 persons participated in the programme. In the third phase, the ADC level activities in the institutions have started.
