We are pleased to highlight a new guideline from the Dalgarno Institute, part of the WFAD network, which emphasises the importance of prevention in strengthening young people’s mental health and long-term resilience. Drawing on the World Youth Report 2025 and insights from 3,000 young people across 137 countries, the publication highlights the scale of current challenges and the need for early, evidence-informed responses.
The guideline underlines the close link between substance use and mental health, and the importance of addressing these challenges early. It also points to the broader social factors that shape resilience, including education, family environments, and economic conditions.
