The Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) is facilitating Youth Participation in the High-Level Political Forum 2023 (HLPF) from Monday, 10 July, to Wednesday, 19 July 2023 and is collecting expressions of interest from young people that need accreditation. The theme of this year’s HLPF is “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels”.
If you are a young person planning to participate in the HLPF in July 2023 and need accreditation support, you can apply through MCCY: https://forms.gle/zKzd1sPqNnZCSQBp9 – Do apply before May 15th.
There is also limited funding available for youth speakers from the global south countries. MGCY will nominate 12-14 youth speakers under the following categories across all sessions of the HLPF:
- Lead discussants – nominated as part of the broader MGOS umbrella (deadline for applications: 9th May 2023, 12 noon New York time)
- Panellists – nominated for the different sessions directly (deadline for applications: 11 May 2023, 12 noon New York time)
In case you are a young person from the global south country and interested in applying for the speaking roles/funded spots, please do so through the application form below. The same form can also be used to apply for being a self-funded speaker (i.e. if you are able to cover your own costs for participation). Application form: https://forms.gle/Qmqkjc7P5BvC4DG27
Deadlines: 9th May 2023, 12 noon New York time to be considered as lead discussant; and 11th May 2023, 12 noon New York time to be considered as a panellist.
