Call for Contributions: Showcasing Youth-Inspired Activities

In March 2025, together with the Core Youth Group, we launched the Global Youth Declaration on Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery 2025. The Declaration is a collective statement shaped by the voices of 1,145 young people worldwide. The Declaration outlines six key recommendations that capture the essence of youth engagement, sensitised services, and community support:

  1. Actively Listen to and Involve Youth
  2. Enhance Research and Modernise Risk Awareness Campaigns
  3. Implement Gender-Responsive Approaches to Address Substance Use Challenges
  4. Ensure Increased Provision of Improved and Accessible Youth Sensitised Services
  5. Empower Youth through Economic Independence and Leadership Opportunities
  6. Strengthen Community Support and Policy Enforcement

We know that many of you have already organised activities or developed materials that directly or indirectly support these priorities. Now, we want to highlight the amazing work already happening across our network!

✨ Share Your Work

We are preparing an online magazine of best practices, highlighting initiatives that align with one or more of the Declaration’s recommendations, or that otherwise contribute to supporting and empowering youth in prevention, treatment, or recovery. This publication will demonstrate that we are not standing still, but actively listening to young people and building our work around their voices.

We invite you to contribute 1–3 page stories or summaries describing your youth-focused activity, programme, or projects that are, for example,

  • Organised by or for young people, or
  • Support youth empowerment, engagement, prevention, treatment, or recovery.

Your contribution doesn’t need to fit neatly under one of the six recommendations; if it supports youth in any way, we want to hear about it!

📅 Submission deadline: November 15, 2025
