On December 11 and 12, WFAD joined the Civil Society Forum on Drugs, an expert committee to the European Commission, their annual meeting in Brussels, Belgium. During the annual meeting, the organisations started their new mandate – welcoming many new as well as former members. The members are all non-governmental organisations working in Drug Demand and Supply Reduction.
Not only was the meeting meant to engage organisations in discussions and provide updates in the field of prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery, it also provided the opportunity for the organisations to meet with other institutions such as the EUDA, HDG,and DG Home and learn about their objectives. Simultaneoulsy, the new thematic groups were decided upon in which organisations will develop coordinated papers and activities focusing pressing issues.
