Today, we commemorate World Children’s Day with the theme “My Day, My Rights”. It is a reminder to reiterate that every young person has the right to grow up healthy, supported, and heard. As we highlighted during our #PreventionThatWorks Campaign, prevention is incredibly important to create safe and healthy environments for youth. However, it is similarly important to shape prevention with youth. When young people are included in designing and leading prevention efforts, the results are more meaningful, equitable, and lasting. Today, we celebrate the voices of young people who are helping to build safer, healthier communities and remind everyone that participation is a right, not an option.
