Seattle city officials have approved a pot festival in December. Organizers have planned for music, food and pot smoking for up to 500 people – behind a double fence as the state prohibits people from smoking pot in public. If up to 500 people gather at an event, open to the public, to smoke pot I would have thought that to be a clear example of smoking pot in public. However, Seattle pot logic tells us it isn´t. If you create a smoking “moat” where 10 000 people gather to light up, would that be regarded as smoking in public? Probably not in Potington state.
