Prison officers who refuse to answer questions about corruption in WA jails could be sentenced to 12 months behind bars under tough new laws expected to be introduced to State Parliament today (November 20). It is understood that in the past two years about 60 prison officers have faced serious internal disciplinary charges, but only four have been sacked.
