Cape Argus reports that ANC provincial chairperson Marius Fransman has called all parties in the province to put aside their political differences and forge a united front in the fight against gang violence and drugs wrecking the Western Cape. Fransman said he would write to all leaders in the province, from the Premier to the Mayor of Cape Town, about his plan to deal with the problem. “We cannot allow the province to become a gangsters’ paradise. We cannot continue in this way of turf battles between spheres of government, the blame game, and political bickering“.
