WFAD will be present at the 55th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, Austria. During a side event Monday, March 12, 14.00-15.00, IOGT International in co-operation with WFAD and Junis (IOGT-NTO’s Junior Association) will discuss The Rights of The Child to Be Protected from Illicit Drugs.

Of all the international human rights conventions there is only one that mentions illicit drugs; the UN Convention
on the Rights of the Child, article 33. How does this align with the UN drug conventions? Should we shift focus in drug policy from the adult user to the non-using child? What are the practical implications?
Speaker: Sven-Olov Carlsson, International President of World Federation Against Drugs

The Rights of The Child to Be Protected from Illicit Drugs is also one of the main themes during the 3rd World Forum Against Drugs in Stockholm, Sweden May 21-23, 2012.
