Peggy Chukwuemeka is the Executive Director of the Parent-Child Intervention Centre (PCIC)
She is a Psychologist, a researcher and an author. Peggy has over 8 years of experience in drug abuse prevention, fighting corruption, mitigation of Gender-based violence, trafficking and money laundering. In the cause of her project implementations through her organization, she is in partnership with ActionAid, Global Affairs Canada, USAID, Vienna NGO Committee, Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and others.
Peggy Chukwuemeka is the Pioneer of Parents-for-Parents ( P4P) in Nigeria. This is a self-sponsored four-year project of training parents who volunteer to sensitize other parents in their communities about the dangers of drug abuse and domestic violence. The outcome of the P4P has been tremendous. She is a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, a project manager and a specialist in preventing and countering violent extremism in Nigeria.
She is the Convener of the first-ever National Parents’ Summit and Family Support Award in Nigeria with the presence of the representatives of the National Orientation Agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Ministry of Education, and The Ministry for Gender and Social Development, teachers, school owners, youth leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and NGOs.
Peggy is also the pioneer of the Network of Psychologists against Corruption as she believes in changing the narratives about corruption, drug and substance abuse as well as violence against women and girls in Nigeria. As a result of her tremendous work in family interventions, she was awarded a Global Family Ambassador (GFA) by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification in 2019.
Peggy has made presentations at the 62nd and 64th CND Ministerial Round-Table Segment in Vienna Austria 2019 and 2021 as well as at the Sub sectional meeting of the CND in Vienna in 2019. She has held Meetings and training on drugs and its relationship with TOC in partnership with the NDLEA Enugu, World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD) and the UNODC.
