The Vienna and New York NGO Committees on Drugs together with the NGO Alliance on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice are looking for one civil society expert with substantive experience on the topic” Treatment and Care for People with Drug Use Disorders in Contact with the Criminal Justice System – Alternatives to Conviction or Punishment” who can make a meaningful contribution to the hybrid informal technical consultation organised by the UNODC on October 2-4, 2023 in Vienna.

The informal technical consultation aims to identify and discuss effective pathways to health-centred non-custodial alternative measures for people with drug use disorders in contact with the criminal justice system. The event will include international experts nominated by Member States, academia, civil society organizations, people with lived experience and technical experts with a health and justice background.

The deadline to apply to be considered for nomination is September 10, 2023
