The Rural Development and Youth Training Institute has been an active member of WFAD for the last six years. They are a non-governmental/non-profit registered organisation in Kota, India. They work in the field of community development activities, health education, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of drug dependents. They also actively create awareness of the need for prevention, especially for rural youth, women, and children.
Rural Development and Youth Training Institute have a team of young, energetic, and hard-working people. The majority of the executive/governing body of the organisation belongs to rural youth training experts, including female experts. they work on the prevention of drug use through counselling, awareness campaigns, community intervention, and advocacy with local CBOs as well as coordination with rehabilitation organisations for effective treatment.
During the months of January until April 2023, the organisation has organised five village meetings and workshops in the rural areas of Kota, India. Here, they discussed drug-free communities their issues and their future strategy in this regard. They also discussed about the WFAD and its objectives, drug prevention, harm reduction issues, basic human and democratic rights, peace, tolerance, equality, and justice issues in the village meetings and workshops. Around 560 people, including women and children, gathered in two village meetings and workshops and discussed drug-free community development activities and took decisions about drug-free communities and non-violent development activities for people within the community and villages.
