Our member, Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) Health Sector, is recognized with three prestigious awards including the best at the national level for its exceptional contribution to providing family planning services including Maternal and Child Health Services.

Thursday, July 11, in the morning, the award was handed over by the State Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Dr Rokeya Sultana to Iqbal Masud, Director, Health and WASH Sector of DAM while Dr Shamaonta Lal Saha, the honourable Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was present as Chief Guest and Dr Vibhavendra Sing Raghvanshi, Officer in Charge, UNFPA Bangladesh was present as guest of honour. The ceremony was presided over by Md Azizur Rahman, Secretary, Medical Education andFamilyWelfareDivision and a welcome speech delivered by the A N M Al Firoz. Director General. Directorate General of Family Planning. The ceremony was held at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall in Shahbagh, the capital city on the observance of World Population Day 2024.

On the same day Sumon Kumar Saha, Project Manager of the Urban Primary Health Care Services Delivery Project, Phase II in Cumilla district, implemented by DAM Health Sector, received an award at the divisional level. The ceremony took place at the Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium. And on the same day, Md. Tarikul Islam, the MIS Officer of the project, accepted the award at a best worker/institution award ceremony and discussion meeting held at the Cumilla District Family Planning Office.

On the occasion of World Population Day 2024 celebrations, DAM was honoured as the best non-governmental organization at the national level in the Community-Based Distribution (CBD) category. Moreover, DAM in Cumilla was recognized as the Best Non-Governmental Organization (CBD) at the Chittagong divisional level and also received the accolade of Best Non-Governmental Organization (CBD and Clinic) at the district level in Cumilla.
