Operation “Reach the Ghettos” outreach by Reformed Drug and Substance Abuse Initiative

On December 6th, 2021, the Reformed Drug and Substance Abuse Initiative launched a Harm Reduction Advocacy campaign called ‘Operation “Reach the Ghettos” outreach’ in observance of the 16 Days of Activism in major Ghettos in Jalingo, Taraba State, Nigeria. This is served as a grass-root soft approach to the War Against Drugs Abuse (WADA). WADA is not just a slogan but a call for civil action for all to take an active part in the war against drug abuse.

Operation “Reach the Ghettos” outreach is a reflection of the organisation’s dedication to serve, uphold and promote drug-free living in society. The spirit of community service is the guiding principle for the Harm Reduction Advocacy programme, as they respond to the problem of drug and substance use in remote drug hideout places. The target audience were enlightened and educated on the effects of drug use during the outreach and taught on how to cut down use.
