The INCB Civil Society Hearing 2025, tentatively scheduled for 9.00-9.30 am on Thursday March 22nd, will provide the opportunity to 6 NGO representatives to present their work and positioning on the main topic during the meeting. The thematic hearing is on “Collaboration in International Drug Control”. The Deadline to apply is Today – March 14th at 23.45 CEST

As announced by the INCB President at the informal dialogue in the margins of the 68th CND, the INCB Board would like to invite, through the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs, civil society representatives to meet with the Board during its 143rd session. The 143rd session of the Board will take place from 20 to 30 May 2025. Due to the United Nations Secretariat regular budget liquidity crisis, the duration of the Board’s session has been reduced. In view of the limited time available as well as interpretation constraints, the online meeting of the Board with NGOs will unfortunately be limited to 30 minutes, comprising approximately six brief interventions. To ensure that the Board is provided with meaningful NGO perspectives, NGOs are invited to provide written submissions to supplement the brief interventions.

In order to ensure an inclusive, comprehensive and meaningful civil society participation, the VNGOC will once again coordinate and select contributions from around the world. The VNGOC will follow our established guidelines to do this.   Each speaker will have 3-4 minutes to present their work on the topic of “collaboration in international drug control”. Selected speakers will be asked to send in their statements or videos including transcripts before the hearing. All abstracts have to be submitted in English.  Selected speakers and other interested NGOs also have the possibility to submit written submissions on the topic “collaboration in international drug control”. Kindly limit written submission to 2,000 words. Please share your written submissions in word or PDF format with before 20 May 2025.

Please make sure that your abstract is relevant to the topic of the event,  and clearly describes what you will be presenting about.  Selected candidates will be notified on Friday, 16 May 2025.
