Call for Submissions – Share your Best Practices for Orange Day and 16-Days of Activism

We are excited to invite submissions for our upcoming virtual webinar, Orange Day 2024: Advancing Trauma-Informed SUD Services. This event, which is part of the larger WFAD Virtual World Forum, will provide a platform to explore trauma-informed interventions and innovative strategies to address gender-based violence (GBV) in SUD treatment services.

We are calling on practitioners, researchers, and advocates to submit abstracts. This is a unique opportunity to join an esteemed panel of experts and share your insights or highlight new projects that integrate trauma response into SUD treatment and break the cycle of violence. We particularly encourage submissions that focus on evidence-based approaches and gender-sensitive strategies in trauma-informed services.

To participate, please submit your abstract by November 8th, 2024 via email to , with the subject line Orange Day 2024. Ensure your submission reflects the theme of the event and presents a thoughtful approach to addressing violence against women through trauma-informed services. We look forward to receiving your submissions!

In honor of the 16 Days of Activism, spanning from Orange Day on November 25th to Human Rights Day on December 10th, we invite you to contribute to a powerful, daily campaign aimed at raising awareness about gender-based violence and related issues. Every day during this period, we will highlight the voices of organizations, individuals with lived experiences, and activists through posts. We want to use our reach to lift up smaller organization.

We encourage submissions from those who wish to share their work or personal experiences in the fight against violence. You are welcome to submit video clips, poetry, or any creative texts, artwork, personal statements, or essays. Your submissions can be presented either by yourself or on your behalf. Additionally, research that contributes to understanding the issues surrounding violence is also welcomed.

Throughout the campaign, we will ensure that various aspects related to violence and SUD, such as mental health, trauma, youth, poverty, and relationships, are addressed. Contributions will be posted on our social media channels daily, lifting the voices of those affected by these issues and advocating for global solutions.

Furthermore, on specific international days that fall within the 16 Days of Activism, such as World AIDS Day or the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, our campaign will spotlight those particular themes.

Please submit your contributions by November 16th via email to , with the subject line 16 Days of Activism 2024. Let’s join together to raise awareness, share stories, and create a powerful movement against violence.

We look forward to your submissions and to standing together in solidarity against gender-based violence.
