Session 2: Engaging and Empowering Youth
6 May, 13:00–14:30 CEST

Why is youth participation essential in prevention and recovery, and what does meaningful engagement look like in practice? This session explores the value of meaningful youth engagement, bringing forward youth perspectives, experiences, and leadership in addressing substance use.

The session will explore both the opportunities and barriers to youth engagement, while also examining how organisations can create space for meaningful and inclusive participation. Through a dynamic panel discussion, youth leaders from across our global network will share their personal experiences and the initiatives they are leading in their communities.

The World Federation Against Drugs invites members to a five-part online training series on Building Resilient and Inclusive Responses to Substance Use and Addiction, as part of this year’s World Forum series, bringing together voices from across our global network to explore practical approaches to prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Insights you will gain for Session 2:
• A deeper understanding of meaningful and inclusive youth engagement
• Practical examples of youth-led initiatives and peer support
• Tools to identify barriers and opportunities for youth participation
