The UNODC theme for the 2021 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking – 26 June’s ‘World Drug Day’ – is “Share Facts on Drugs. Save Lives.”
The theme stresses the importance of awareness of the facts on drugs (and their dangers), and of evidence-based prevention, treatment, and care.
The campaign will highlight key statistics, drawn from the World Drug Report after 24 June, and what is needed to bridge the gap between the current situation and a vision of health for all.
As in previous years, UNODC has made available materials such as logos and social media packages. UNODC hashtags for World Drug Day 2021 will be #ShareFactsOnDrugs,#SaveLives, #WDD2021 and#WorldDrugDay.
On 25 June 1.30PM to 3.30PM Vienna, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will host a special event commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking and launching the World Drug Report 2021. The event will be hosted in a hybrid format, both online and in person, and all Civil Society Organisations are invited to follow the event via the webcast.
The launch of the World Drug Report 2021 will be followed in July by two webinars for civil society to learn more about the newest trends, both global and regional. You can already register for one or both of the webinars and we will follow up with more details soon:
